We thank all of our users who signed up for the waitlist in 2023 to test Argent on zkSync Era network.
We have also launched a number of other initiatives on Starknet in the meantime. It turned out Starknet is more suited to our approach as every wallet has to be a smart contract wallet (which is what Argent is). This means smart contract wallets are front of mind for Dapp developers, so they can tailor their experiences better for our users.
As such, we have stopped development on zkSync Era and decided not to go through with it post-alpha.
For users who never topped up their zkSync Era wallet in Argent
We have removed the option in Argent to create new zkSync Era wallets to prevent more people from needing to move their assets in the future.
Argent zkSync Era wallet was in alpha, but we have decided to shift our focus to Starknet. That is why you will no longer see it as an option.
For users with funded zkSync Era wallets
ZkSync Era Alpha on Argent is ending on January 31st, 2024. After that date you might experience degraded performance on your Argent zkSync Era account as we start winding down our zkSync Era infrastructure.
While this does not impact the security of your Argent wallet we advise all users to transfer their funds out before January 31st 2024.
To stay in the zkSync Ecosystem it will be best to move them to another zkSync Era Wallet (eg. Metamask).
If you prefer to keep your funds in argent we recommend bridging the assets to Starknet, our main network moving forward, you can learn more about this here.
