Why we need your phone number and email address for the default Argent guardian
The default Argent guardian is a 2-factor authentication service operated by Argent.
It works like your other guardians to protect your funds. You can read more about guardians on our blog.
When you activate the default Argent guardian:

We send you a text message and an email whenever an action needs guardian approval

You confirm ownership by verifying access to your phone number and email address

After verification, the Argent guardian "signs" its approval
If you have other guardians, you may also need their approval before an action goes ahead. Guardians always work in consensus.
For Ethereum account you can turn off the default Argent guardian at any time, but you must first add at least one other guardian.
What we store
We store an encrypted version of your phone number and email address on our servers.
