Why we ask for your phone number
- We pay Ethereum network fees (gas) for some security options of your wallet so we need to ensure no-one tries to drain our bank account by creating a million wallets.
- We use it to send you security alerts duplicating those sent via email
- It's used as a default method to enable 2-factor authentication when recovering your wallet
What we store
We store an encrypted version of your number on our servers.
I can't receive SMS from Argent
If you are unable to receive SMS when creating a new mobile wallet, it is possible to bypass phone verification by tapping Can't receive text messages when you reach the phone verification stage. Please note that we will be unable to send security notifications to your phone number, and initially you will be able to recover your wallet with only access to your email account.
If you can't receive SMS messages from Argent when trying to use your existing account, please reach out to us from the wallet's registered email address to support@argent.xyz.
