When creating an account in Argent X, you will notice that you can create a Standard account or a Smart account.
Smart account has Two-factor authentication (2FA) that allows to:
- Import Argent X account into Argent mobile app as a read-only, or a fully functional account.
- Protect your wallet with email authentication, so that even if your seed phrase is compromised, the malicious party would not be able to drain the wallet.
- Recover your account in case a seed phrase is lost (this is in development)
How to change an existing standard account to a smart account in Argent X?
- Go to Settings in the top-left corner of your wallet.
- Account settings
- Upgrade to Smart Account: please note that upgrading to smart account is an on-chain transaction.
IMPORTANT:
Please make sure you are using a safe and accessible email address. Do not use temporary, catch-all or shared email addresses.
