Moving assets from zkSync Lite within zkSync ecosystem

zkSync Lite is being phased out, and the protocols that used to support it are moving their infrastructure towards zkSync Era. We recommend moving your assets to a zkSync wallet outside of Argent.

Please do not send assets on Era to your Argent address!

We suggest moving your zkSync Lite assets to another wallet, like MetaMask, then you can bridge them easily to zkSync Era.

TL;DR: 

  • Transfer zkSync Lite assets from Argent to MetaMask
  • View your zkSync Lite assets on zkSync Wallet
  • Bridge them to zkSync Era at a later date 

Important: You need supported tokens to pay for network fees - you can find them here - see the last column if the token is Available to be used for network fees.

If you have unsupported tokens on Argent (such as stETH or icETH for example), send those first. You can swap other tokens to ETH on Argent and send that balance to Metamask as one transaction if you would prefer. 

 

STEP 1: Create a MetaMask account 

  1. Skip to step 2 if you have MetaMask set up already. 
  2. Follow the MetaMask support article: Getting started with MetaMask.
  3. Once you have a MetaMask wallet (browser extension or mobile), you can transfer zkSync Lite assets from Argent to MetaMask. 

STEP 2: Transferring from Argent to MetaMask 

The easiest way to transfer from Argent to MetaMask is by scanning your MetaMask QR code from within Argent. To do this:

 

  1. Open MetaMask on your desktop (browser extension wallet), click the 3 dots in the top right corner, and select ‘Account details’. 
  2. Then open Argent, go to your zkSync Lite account, and select ‘Scan QR code’. 
  3. Scan the MetaMask QR code, select zkSync Lite (1.0) as your network, and complete your transfer. 

If you don’t have access to a desktop, or the MetaMask QR code is not working, follow these steps:

  1. Open MetaMask and copy your MetaMask Ethereum address (browser extension or mobile app).
  2. Open Argent, and go to your zkSync Lite account.
  3. Press Transfer, then press Send, and paste your MetaMask Ethereum address
  4. Select your address, then on ‘Select network’, choose zkSync Lite (1.0)
  5. Choose the asset you want to transfer, press max, then press review 
  6. Review send, and press Send now.

STEP 3: View your zkSync assets on zkSync Wallet

If using mobile:

  • Open https://lite.zksync.io/ on mobile, press WalletConnect, then select MetaMask
  • Open MetaMask, press connect, and wait for it to connect
  • View your zkSync Lite assets

If using desktop:

  • Open https://lite.zksync.io/ on desktop, select Ethereum wallet, then select MetaMask
  • Open MetaMask, press next, then press connect
  • View your zkSync Lite assets

Once your zkSync Lite assets are on MetaMask, you can use Layerswap or Orbiter Finance to bridge them to zkSync Era.
