What is it?
The daily transfer limit helps to secure your wallet. It sets a ceiling to how much you can send out of your wallet each day.
The default limit is set to 10 ETH but you can adjust it easily in-app.
If there are addresses you trust and you don't want the limit to apply to them, you can choose to trust them easily in the app. You can then make unlimited transfers each day to them.
How does it work?
Transactions that take you over your limit are delayed for 24 hours. The delay gives you time to review them and, if you don't want them to go ahead, block them by locking your wallet.
If you want to make large transfers within the 24 hour period you can accelerate them with a guardian.
Every time you use a guardian your daily limit will automatically reset, so you'll have your full allowance again. This will balance ease of use and security.
Which tokens are included in the limit?
The limit applies across tokens. We use an on-chain exchange rate to calculate the total value of the tokens being transacted.
As we need the exchange rate or token price to calculate the limit, the limit only applies to those tokens that are available on Paraswap and in our Invest options. The other tokens will not be included in the limit.
Gas (Ethereum network fees) counts towards your limit.
Minimum limit
If you would like the lowest limit possible, we'd recommend setting it anywhere from 0.2 to 1 ETH. You should not have a limit of 0 because gas fees count towards your limit, so having a limit of 0 means you wouldn’t be able to trade within the Argent app, and would have to use your guardians to approve every single transaction.
Changing your limit
You can change your daily transfer limit. Just go to the Security tab in the Profile and tap Daily Transfer Limit in the menu.
- Decreasing a limit comes into effect instantly.
- Increasing a limit is only active after 24 hours. We built in a 24 hour delay to prevent someone from raising it to make large transfers.
