If you received an email or SMS about wallet recovery but did not request it, this likely means someone is actively trying to recover a wallet using your username.
I received an unrequested SMS
If you got one, it means someone is trying to recover a wallet registered with your email or phone number.
Your wallet is still safe as long as the person trying to recover it does not have access to the verification codes.
If you would prefer extra protection, you can lock your wallet at security.argent.xyz (for Ethereum accounts) or change the 2FA email to a newly created one (for Starknet accounts).

-
If you are using Argent X in browser, login to the wallet and make sure there is no ongoing guardian escape notice on the home page, if there is, click on it and cancel the escape:
-
If you are sure your email account is secure, you can ignore and delete the email.
-
For extra protection, you can lock your wallet at security.argent.xyz for 5 days (for Ethereum accounts) or change the 2FA email to a newly created one (for Starknet accounts).
-
You can also cancel the recovery attempt at security.argent.xyz/cancel-recovery (for Ethereum accounts).
Tips to prevent this in the future
Add more security to your wallet:
-
Add your phone number: Go to Settings > Account details. This will link your number to your default Argent guardian and enable 2-step recovery.
-
Use email inbox that is not easily accessed from within your mobile apps.
Secure your email account:
-
Use a random password stored in a password manager.
-
Enable two-factor authentication (such as Google Authenticator).
