If your phone with the Argent wallet is lost or stolen and you are worried about your assets, here is what you can do.
If you have funds in your Ethereum account
Step 1: Lock your wallet
-
Lock your wallet using a guardian at security.argent.xyz/lock-wallet.
-
If your guardians include the default Argent guardian, MetaMask, or a hardware wallet, you can do this directly.
-
A friend or family member who is your guardian can also lock your wallet via Security > Guardians > Who I protect in their Ethereum account.
-
If you find your phone again, you can unlock your wallet and carry on as usual.
-
If your only guardian is the default Argent guardian, the wallet will be locked for 5 days. You will not be able to unlock it sooner.
Step 2: Recover your wallet on a new phone
-
While your wallet is locked, you can start recovery on a new phone, using onchain recovery.
-
See our wallet recovery guide for detailed steps.
If you have funds in your Argent Starknet account (mobile)
-
Your account is protected by 2FA, phone security, and app security.
-
We recommend contacting us so we can change your 2FA to a different option, ideally a newly created email address not linked to your lost phone.
If you use Argent X
-
The safest approach is to disable 2FA in your desktop browser and re-enable it with a different, preferably new, email address.
-
If you think your seed phrase may also be compromised, create a new wallet and transfer your assets to it.
