All transactions in Ethereum require network fees ("gas"). This includes failed transactions.
We will do our best to ensure your transactions succeed but cannot guarantee they will due to the range of factors outside of our control. These include spikes in network congestion and engineering choices made by a Dapp that makes them incompatible with Argent.
We are therefore unable to refund the network fees for many transactions. The following are some of the transaction types possible in Argent and whether a network fee refund would be possible.
For any questions, please email support@argent.xyz. You can also refer to our Terms of service.
Type | Network fee refund? | Comments |
WalletConnect interaction | No | Dapps compatible with WalletConnect may have made engineering choices that increase the risk of transactions with Argent failing. We are unable to control this as the Dapps are third parties and WalletConnect is an open source protocol that any Dapp can integrate. |
In-app exchange | Contact support@argent.xyz | Transactions that fail due to slippage over 1% will not be refunded. This is because the system worked as intended and protected you from losing an even greater sum. Transactions that fail for other reasons should be discussed with our Support team. |
Integrated Dapps (the "Invest" tab) | Contact support@argent.xyz | Our engineers will need to investigate the cause of the failure. Please contact our Support team. |
Outgoing transfer | Contact support@argent.xyz | To minimize the risks of failure we automatically replay stuck transactions, monitor network conditions, and block transactions that are likely to fail. If a transfer still does not succeed, please contact our Support team. |
